Review:
Now this is a funny send-up of the Universal Frankenstein pictures of the '30s, especially "Son Of Frankenstein"! Gene is hilarious as Dr. Franken-Steen (he's trying to avoid association with his monster maker ancestors) who seems dead against the idea of working with monsters until he returns to the castle and finds his grandfather's books. Then of course we meet I-gor who is definitely the funniest and most memorable hunchback of the Frankenstein series with his wonky eyes and hilarious lines. He's definitely the funniest critter in the movie. Well that being said Peter Boyle is also hilarious in the role of Frankenstein, particularly the singing and dancing seen (oh yes Gene brings him back and teaches him to sing and dance). Even Terri Garr was pretty awesome in the movie as hot assistant Inga! It's an all star cast and every last one of them have hilarious characters, they even bring in a Police guy with the robotic arm like in "Son Of..."! If you've seen the originals then you'll probably enjoy this even more as you can tell where nearly every plot point was abducted from, Mel Brooks just made the whole darned thing funnier!
