Review:
I've always meant to see this but somehow I saw the remake first...this one is much better! It's about a crew from space who end up on this strange planet that seems to be under ape control! Humans don't seem to be able to talk and they are put in cages like animals..it's the apes who are considered intelligent here. Heston finds himself in a position where he has to prove that humanity is smarter than the apes think...but will they listen? Will it be too late? It's really an interesting tale that is yes, over the top...especially Heston's awesome acting and one-liners. It's very entertaining regardless and although it's not the shortest film it feels like a breeze to sit through. Impressive sets and good story make this one of the best sci-fi films I've come across yet, a definite must!
